The Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates for the following posts:

LEGAL DIVISION

1 .1 ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

QUALIFICATIONS: Barrister at Law with at least five years’ standing at the Bar. Experience in Criminal Law, Civil Law, Administrative and Constitutional Law and Prosecution will be an advantage.

2 .1 ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

QUALIFICATIONS: Barrister at Law with at least four years’ standing at the Bar. Experience in Criminal Law, Civil Law, Administrative and Constitutional Law and Prosecution will be an advantage.

3 .1 ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

QUALIFICATIONS:  Barrister at Law with at least three years’ standing at the Bar or Attorney-at-Law with at least three years’ experience. Experience in Criminal Law, Civil Law and Administrative and Constitutional Law or Prosecution will be an advantage.

4 .1 ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

QUALIFICATIONS: Attorney with at least three years practice in Mauritius. Experience in Criminal Law, Civil Law, Administrative and Constitutional Law will be an advantage.

5 .1 ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

QUALIFICATIONS: Barrister at Law with at least three years’ standing at the Bar or Attorney-at-Law with at least three years’ experience. Experience in Criminal Law, Civil Law and Administrative and Constitutional Law or Prosecution will be an advantage.

6.1 ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

QUALIFICATIONS: Barrister-at-Law with at least one (1) year standing at the Bar or Attorney at Law with at least one (1) year experience. Experience in Criminal Law, Civil Law, Administrative and Constitutional Law or Prosecution will be an advantage.

7 .1 ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

QUALIFICATIONS: Attorney-at-law with at least one year practice in Mauritius. Experience in Criminal Law, Civil Law, Administrative and Constitutional Law will be an advantage.

8 .1 ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

QUALIFICATIONS: LLB holders with at least a second class degree

On contract

10.0 REMUNERATION

An attractive package, commensurate with qualification and experience, to the successful candidate together with gratuity and other benefits.

11.0 MODE OF APPLICATION, JOB DESCRIPTION AND NOTES AND INSTRUCTIONS

Applications should be made on the prescribed form ICAC/AF1. The Job Description defines the desirable criteria which would assist the applicant in the discharge of the duties attached to the post.

12.0 CLOSING DATE

The completed Application Form together with photocopies of all supporting documents referred to at paragraph 6(g) in the “Notes & Instructions” should be submitted not later than 14.00 hrs on 25 January 2017 to the Acting Secretary, Independent Commission Against Corruption, Réduit Triangle, Moka.

13.0  GENERAL NOTES

  • Applicants are invited to read the “Notes & Instructions” carefully before filling the application form ICAC/AF1.
  • The post applied for and its Code Number should be clearly marked on the top left-hand corner of the envelope.
  • It is ICAC’s policy to provide suitable employment to people with disability in accordance with the Employment of Disabled Persons Act.
  • Experience in IT will be an advantage.
  • Only the best qualified candidates will be convened for interview.
  • Successful candidates may be required to follow an induction course.
  • Shortlisted candidates may be required to sit for a written examination.
  • Shortlisted candidates in respect of posts LD/01, LD/02, LD/03, LD/05 and LD/06, may be required to plead a case in a mock trial.
