Communique

Following the publication of the ICAC's Chief Legal Advisor's interview in the 07/08/14 edition of Weekly Magazine, the Commission would like to highlight that the introductory passage is factually wrong. There is no case on appeal before the Privy Council relating to Hon. Pravind Kumar Jugnauth on conflict of interest. ICAC bears no responsibility in this part of the text which is purely editorial from Weekly Magazin. The verbatim answers from the ICAC's Chief Legal Advisor further in the interview clearly refer to another case before the Privy Council, (i.e. Beezadhur v/s ICAC & The State), relating to an offense under the FIAMLA (2002).
